I am 83 years of age. Note, I did not say 83 years "old". I do not consider myself "old". I have always been vital and energetic. As I look back on these many years, it is difficult to select the point of departure I took from societies definition of conforming wife and mother to that of "maverick" of the 60's and 70;s. My husband, Jerry and I have been happily married for 62 years and have successfully raised a daughter and 2 sons who are most productive citizens. We are the proud grandparents o four girls and 3 boys and the great grandparents of two little boys.

I am a retired college professor, having broken the "glass ceiling." I retired as a full proessor during an era when full women professors were at a minimum.

Has 83 years young slowed me down? Not really..I attend weekly lectures at our local college and university and am currently involved with my own "personal things to accomplish list". The question my husband of 85 years and I have is where do we go next and what shall we do. Yes, at 83 and 85, we still have many goals to obtain and things to complete. We still consider ourselves the "kids on the block".

*NOTE* -The ages on the stars represent the ages at the time this project started in 2009.
